Just in case you're unfamiliar with her work, Marguerite worked for the Ministry of Food during WW2, encouraging Brits to make the most of their meagre rations. After the war she begain presenting TV shows and has published around 170 cookbooks, selling 17 million copies over seven decades.
You can read the full interview in the October issue of the magazine I work for, which is out today.

she's one of my foodie heroes :)
I've got one of her old books,it has some really interesting recipes and photographs in it,I used one on my blog recently.Had no idea she was that age.
oh lucky you... must have been a great day!
Ah, lovely. Glad to see her looking so chipper! And bet her eclairs were something else...
Marguerite is a living legend. Her recipes work and taste good too;they are grounded in more austere times when food was rationed - too precious to be wasted. Lucky you to have met her.
will have a look at your piece when i see the new Waitrose- we are one issue behind in Canada. x shayma
