Friday Find: Scandi-style food posters

Scandinavia has brought us many good things: crime novels, Moomins, saunas, world-class chefs with foraging fixations...

And, of course, design. Mid-century and contemporary Swedish, Norwegian and Danish design has had a huge influence on British interiors and household objects in recent years: who among us doesn't own an IKEA Smurg or Blopp?*


Norwegian design company Cathrineholm created colourful enamelware bowls, kettles and other kitchenwares in the mid 20th century. The company's signature leaf design items now go for a bit of a song on eBay. But there's a cheaper way of bringing a bit of Cathrineholm cheer into your kitchen, with these fun Scandi-style food posters from ReStyle design prints.

Available from Restyle's Etsy shop, several of the posters play homage to Catherineholm kitchenwares with cheeky slogans like 'Some Like It Hot' below a Cathrineholm teapot, and 'Love and food, it's all about spice' above a row of brightly-coloured spice jars...
